What is Wisconsin Swimming?

Wisconsin Swimming, Inc. (WSI) is one of 59 Local Swimming Committees (LSC) with responsibility under USA Swimming to govern the sport of swimming in the State of Wisconsin, as set forth by USA Swimming.

Wisconsin Swimming organizes and schedules the Regional and State Championship meets in Wisconsin.

Championship Meets

While there are many non-championship USA Swimming meets throughout the year, the Championship Meets are the meets where the best swimmers in the State of Wisconsin all compete on one stage.

More information on upcoming Championship meets can be found at the Wisconsin Swimming Website:

Championship Meets

Swimmers participate as members of the Northern Lakes Aquatic Club (NLAC) when swimming at state events.

Qualifying Times

To qualify for a Championship Meet, swimmers must meet or beat a time cut in any single event based on the Wisconsin Swimming Time Standards.

Regional Championships

To swim at a championship meet, swimmers must join USA Swimming. The Regional Championships are a swimmers last opportunity to meet a state qualifiying time for any event.  Any swimmer may swim at the Regional Championships if they believe they are on the cusp of meeting a state qualifying time.

Short Course Championships

The short course championships are the final event for Wisconsin Swimming, and are where the best swimmers in the state compete.  Only swimmers that meet a qualifying time in at least one event are allowed to swim at the Short Course Championships.  Swimmers are then allowed to swim in up to four individual events and a relay at the championship.
